Fast Sunday

06/28/2020

Tomorrow is Fast Sunday!

THIS OF COURSE MEANS A FEW THINGS,

  • Fasting: (duh lol) remember to start your timer from when you last eat tonight.
  • Donation: to your kindred, to the charity of your choosing. I donate the amount of about two to three meals for the day. For me that's $30.00. You can fast for however long as is comfortable for you, so far I am up to 16hrs easily :)
  • Time in our practice: it may seem stressful or hard to spend the day in fast but the idea is to not over stress your body for this day and in stead spend it in reflection, meditation or in study of your craft!

TODAY I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON BOOK EDITS BUT WHEN I REMEMBERED THAT TOMORROW WAS FAST SUNDAY I PUMPED THE BREAKS AND TURNED MY ATTENTION TO THAT. AS I BUILD MY CRAFT, WORK TOWARDS MY SPIRITUAL CENTER, AND WORK ON THE BOOK. I'VE BEEN PERFECTING WHAT MY FAST DAY LOOKS LIKE...

GOOD NEWS:

THERE IS NO 'RIGHT' WAY TO DO A FAST SUNDAY LOL

INSTEAD IT IS JUST A DAY MEANT FOR YOU TO TAKE TIME TO YOURSELF AND YOUR CRAFT.

Fast Sunday Schedule

  • Fast beings when I last eat, typically 8pm
  • WAKE UP: When ever my body pleases
  • AM ROUTINE: get water for myself, and feed the animals, go into office for am devotions, and sun salutation yoga.
  • NATURE: walking dog, sitting in the grass, cleaning out the garden. Spending a good amount of time outside and in the elements. This helps my mind, body, and spirit.
  • LUNCH TIME: I try to sip water as the day progresses, but if I start to get big time hungry I will drink a bunch of water or bone broth. I also find that reminding myself the point of the day helps to settle the hunger.
  • AFTERNOON WORK: NAP TIME. Hell yea I nap! It's good for you and can be so refreshing. After which I do a long and serious self care routine. Shower/Bath, Skin Care, Hair Care, Lotion, Steamed out. I sometimes take this time to really talk to my ancestors. Praying to them or thinking about them and healing any damage of theirs I carry.
  • PAGAN STUDY: It is very important when you spend this day in reflection to spend some time in study. Reading pagan books, working on your pagan studies, or writing in your journal. In meditation you may receive inspiration, and come up with a ritual idea, or some new insight, and it may strike you on a nature walk, or during alter work. Keep a notebook close by even if you aren't journaling in the next few moments.
  • ALTER WORK: A bit of work goes a long way, and if I am getting a little run down by going for to long without food I clean, reorganize, and re-sanctify the alters in my home. Giving them fresh offerings, and prayers.
  • PM ROUTINE: As time winds down and I get closer to breaking my fast I once again do devotions, with fresh clean alters, fresh clean bodies, and fresh clean minds it is time to finish our fasting day with some renewed devotional work, and preform the moon salute
  • BREAKING FAST: It is VERY important to break fast carefully. It can make you sick to eat to much, or unhealthy food. I would suggest a light home made meal, or soup. Give thanks to the energies for the day you have spent together.
